Applied Kinesiology:  Applied kinesiology (AK) is a form of assessing the body based off reflex responds. AK uses muscle strength as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person’s body is functioning. When properly applied, the outcome of an AK testing will determine the best form of therapy for the patient. Since AK draws together the core elements of many complementary therapies, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to health care. Survey of Body work: In the field of massage therapy there are many different modalities of bodywork. In this course we will be reviewing the most common of these modalities. The purpose of the study is to formalize the student with the different type of body work and to perhaps spark an interest in some areas for further study. Student Clinic: Student will spend supervised hours work with client in a clinical setting. Students will be expected to show the skills learned from the courses they have completed.  36 hours on site at ICNH


Therapy

Massage Swedish: Swedish massage was developed by Dr. Per Henrik Link in the 1700’s to aid in the training of athletes. It refers to a variety of techniques to relax muscles by the use of specific stokes and is generally considered the standard in massage therapy today.

Sport Massage: Utilizing the stokes of Swedish Massage. The student will learn to work with athletes to aid in their training and rehabilitation from sports injuries

Naprapathic Massage: Naprapathy is a branch of manual medicine that focuses on neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. This course is a study of Naprapathic care from a massage stand and includes the use of essential oils and pressure points. This course is offered on- line with text, power point, and internet conferencing with instructor.

 Specialized Massage: A study of massage in specialized areas. Including but not limited to Infant, geriatric and pregnancy massage, cranial sacral work and visceral manipulation.  This course is offered on- line with text, and internet conferencing with Instructor

  Massage Lab:  This lab is to give the student time to practice and refine his own massage. Every Massage Therapist develops there own style of massage that is personalized to them 20 hours on site at ICNH

 Raindrop with Oils: Raindrop was developed by D. Gary Young, founder Young living Oils. A person receiving raindrop lies facedown as oils are dropped on their back from a height of 6-12 inches. The oils are then gently massaged in with a feathering stroke into the back. The theory of Raindrop Therapy is that many types of spinal misalignments are caused by viruses or bacteria. These pathogens create inflammation that contorts the spinal column. This course is offered on- line with text, power point, and internet conferencing with instructor

Auricular Therapy with Oils: In The study of auricular therapy, each area of the ear corresponds to a different anatomical portion of the body. These points have been identified on the ears, and they can become spontaneously tender or otherwise react to the presence of disease or injury elsewhere in the body. Auricular Therapy is a study of how to use these points to decrease pain and to balance the body. This course is offered on- line with text, power point, and internet conferencing with instructor.

Hurley with Oils: a study of the work of Dr. John Hurley in the aliment of the human body. This technique utilizes point holding and very light massage work, with the addition of Essential Oils. This course has hours on line and on site with text, power point, and internet conferencing with instructor.

Tui na Acupressure and Oils: Tui na is an ancient massage technique. That includes pressure points and special massage movements. When combined with Essential Oils it become very powerful in dealing with many if today’s health complaints. This course has hours on line and on site with text, power point, and internet conferencing with instructor.

Reflexology: Reflexology and zone therapy are alternative medicine method involving the practice of massaging or applying pressure to parts of the feet, or sometimes the hands with the goal of encouraging a beneficial effect on other parts of the body, or to improve general health. Course will cover foot and hand Reflexology and Vita Flex.

Emotions and Essential Oils: In natural health, emotions are often held out to be one of the main contributors of disease. In this course you will be learning way to help your clients to release tension and emotions that may be blocking there healing. Lymph Drainage and Oils: The lymphatic system is a complex network of vessels and ducts that move fluid throughout the body. The lymph fluid moves toxins away from healthy cells, and carrying germ-fighting materials to cells in need of it. The Lymphatic fluid moves through the body, but it does not have its own pumping mechanism. Lymphatic drainage is a therapy that helps the body produce a free-flowing lymphatic system.

First Aid and Oils: This course is based on the first responder course taught though out the USA. Besides basic first aid the course will cover the essential oils that can be used to help stabilize and care for the injured.

Generals

Ethics in Health Care: The dictionary defines ethics in health care as, principles and moral values of proper medical conduct. In this course you learn of the proper conduct and values of massage therapy. This course is offered on- line with text, power point, and internet conferencing with instructor.

Business: In addition to learning massage. A therapist must also learn the business of massage.  You must learn how to generate an income and build clientele. This course is a study of building a massage business. This course this offered on- line with text, power point, and internet conferencing with instructor.

Research Paper on Bodywork: An Original research paper on Body work in health care and or Essential Oils sciences.  20 hours

Electives

Herbology: Herbalism is a traditional medicinal practice based on the use of plants and plant extracts. In this course the student will learn the preparation and uses of many of the common herbs used in natural health care today. Workbook,  PowerPoint and internet conferencing with instructor 16 hours

Homeopathy: Homeopathy is a system of healing that is based on the idea that substances that produce symptoms of sickness in healthy people will have a curative effect when given in very dilute quantities to sick people who exhibit those same symptoms. Workbook, PowerPoint and internet conferencing with instructor 16 hours

 

This program is a total 720 hours. These hours completes a Massage Therapy and Essential Oils Therapy Certifications. 200 of the bodywork hours must be completed on site at I.C.N.H. campus. 520 hours on-line study without the 200 hours on campus study at I.C.N.H. will complete Essential Oils Therapist Certification, but not the Massage Therapy Certification.
